1. MUD

Branding
2026

MUD is a pottery studio designed for all skill levels, where beginners can learn the art of pottery and experienced artists can continue to practice and refine their craft. The studio offers a welcoming and supportive environment where anyone can feel comfortable exploring clay, whether it is their first time working with their hands or they are returning to a long-loved practice. Through guided classes, open studio time, and hands-on experiences, MUD creates opportunities for growth and creativity.

MUD has goals to encourage customers to have fun, get dirty, and play in the mud. It embraces the idea that creativity is not about perfection, but about the process of making. A creative playground where it is ok to get a little messy, MUD invites people to step outside of their comfort zones and fully immerse themselves in the experience. The studio fosters a sense of community, where individuals can connect, experiment, and enjoy the freedom of creating something with their own hands. At MUD, every piece tells a story, and every artist is encouraged to explore, learn, and enjoy the beauty of imperfection.

Building the Logo

When creating the MUD logo, I knew I wanted it to resemble clay in its most plastic state. To capture this quality authentically, I decided to work with clay in real life rather than trying to recreate its texture digitally. This allowed me to capture the literal plasticity, organic forms, and natural imperfections of the material, which became the foundation for the logo’s visual identity.
Take Home Boxes

MUD offers three beginner classes for those who are new to ceramics or returning to the craft after a long time. Classes provided include a bowl, mug and vase wheel throwing class. With each class you are returning home with a box in which your fired piece can go home in, safely protected. Along with that comes a pottery care card for you to refer to so that you know how to correctly care for your new pottery to keep it nice.

Educational Flyers

Educational flyers are passed out to new visitors so they can learn the proper uses for each tool.
